On June 23, 2024, the signing ceremony for the joint establishment of the Future Agriculture Innovation and Technology Research Institute between Suzhou PRCXI Bioinformation Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Agricultural University was held in Nanjing, marking the commencement of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two institutions. Attendees included Zhu Bin, Chairman of Suzhou PRCXI Bioinformation Co., Ltd., Liu Wei, Executive General Manager, Ding Yanfeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanjing Agricultural University Committee and Vice President, Zhou Guodong, Dean of the Science Research Institute, Xu Quan, Director of the Social Cooperation Department, Yao Keyan, Director of the Alumni Association (Education Development Foundation) Office, Lin Guanghua, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Frontier Interdisciplinary Research Institute, Dou Daolong, Dean of the Frontier Interdisciplinary Research Institute, and representatives from the faculty. The ceremony was hosted by Sheng Xin, Deputy Secretary of the Party General Branch and Vice Dean of the Frontier Interdisciplinary Research Institute.
During the ceremony, Zhu Bin introduced the founding vision and recent development of the company. Suzhou PRCXI Bioinformation Co., Ltd. focuses on the research and production of laboratory automation equipment, targeting issues in biological breeding, environmental public health, and general wellness. It continuously progresses through sustained innovation and exploration.
In light of the significant national, societal, and industrial demands for future agriculture and life sciences, the company expressed its desire for deep cooperation with Nanjing Agricultural University to jointly establish a high-level research institution centered on future agriculture and wellness. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and institutional synergy, they aim to build a domestically leading R&D, analysis, and testing platform and demonstration model for wellness, bringing cutting-edge technologies closer to practical applications, promoting industry automation, and supporting the construction of an agricultural powerhouse and a healthy China.
Ding Yanfeng congratulated the establishment of the Future Agriculture Innovation and Technology Research Institute and thanked Suzhou PRCXI for its support and trust in Nanjing Agricultural University. He suggested several key points for the collaboration: first, collaborative innovation through university-industry partnerships, where enterprises pose questions, universities provide answers, and the market evaluates the outcomes, leveraging the scientific research and talent cultivation strengths of universities and activating the R&D and manufacturing vitality of enterprises for win-win cooperation. Second, ensuring the effective integration of industry and education, with a focus on expanding cooperation from specific points to broader areas, including joint research project applications and new talent cultivation. Third, clarifying property rights and responsibilities to ensure a transparent and well-defined university-industry relationship. Both parties must adhere to their founding missions and work together to address the challenges of agricultural powerhouse construction in the new era.
In 2023, Suzhou PRCXI Bioinformation Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Agricultural University jointly established the "Frontier Interdisciplinary Innovation Incubation Fund," laying a solid foundation for their collaboration. In the future, they will further expand and deepen their cooperation in areas such as plant phenotyping, agricultural wellness, and bioinformatics, jointly building a high ground for university-industry cooperation in education and innovation.
